ABOUT ISAIAS S. TAPALES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

HISTORY

              Isaias S. Tapales Elementary School formerly San Jose Elementary School started as a one-room classroom to serve the people in the community in the year 1950-1951. Excess pupils from Antipolo Elementary School now Juan Sumulong Elementary School living in the nearby community were the first pupils with an enrolment of 25 learners under Mr. Florentino M. Lindo as Classroom Teacher and Teacher-in-charge. A great transformation in San Jose Elementary School, the school was constructed to meet the educational needs of people who have started building houses around the area. Later on , in 1995, an additional room was constructed because of the increase in the enrolment of pupils. The school continued its growth yearly till the present. The school generates several facilities and buildings. It had a stage lunch counter and administration. An Annex building situated in Pleasant Hills and known as San Antonio Village and had an enrolment of 184 pupils as part of the school. Its enrolment had soared to 1 533 and still growing up because of the mushrooming of subdivision around the school site. Several problems beset the school like lack of adequate school and buildings which administration plan to solve eventually through the purchase of additional site by the school board. Mrs. Bernada J. Serrato was the first school head assigned and stayed in the school for nine (9) years.

 

 

             She was later on succeeded by Miss Basilisa M. Reynaldo for four (4) years then Mrs. Violeta J. Navarro, the third principal in 1975 stayed the longest 23 years, followed by Mrs. Rosario G. Encomienda, Mrs. Susan P. Abiog, Mrs. Maria Olaño, Mrs. Flora D. Cahapay, Mrs. Joyany ST. Gutierrez, Mrs. Angeles B. Dulin, and presently Mrs. Fely V. Aminoso. During their period many infrastructure projects have realized, improvement of the pathways, fence, stage and construction of additional buildings were made in place. All the improvements done within the years were due to the unsuited effort and cooperation of the school heads, teachers, local and PTA officials and the parents and the people in the community in general. Pupils and teachers showed academic excellence by winning in local, district, provincial and national levels in the school competitions.
